Press release: Check playing quality synthetic turf yourself

User friendly novelty for monitoring football pitches
CHECK PLAYING QUALITY SYNTHETIC TURF YOURSELF

MOOK, the Netherlands – The worldwide active Dutch test equipment specialist Deltec introduces a special test set to measure the playing quality of synthetic turf football (soccer) pitches within one hour. This test set is most wanted since a long time throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Professional test equipment is no longer the domain of testing laboratories, measuring can easily be done yourself with the Club Set. The set is especially developed for installers, contractors, maintenance companies, consultants, municipalities and clubs and is a pure novelty in all aspects. With the easy to operate, lightweight and budget friendly set, the user gets insight in not only the condition of the pitch, but also about the status of injury sensitiveness and playing experience. The Club Set tests the infill level, ball roll and ball rebound characteristics of a pitch. Besides that, the other part of the set, the Club Tester, monitors the player-surface interaction. On the basis of standardized values, the Club Tester shows how the player will experience the pitch regarding hardness (shock absorption), stability (vertical deformation) and elasticity (energy restitution). The values have a direct relation with topics like injury sensitiveness and how fatiguing the pitch feels to play on. By easily measuring all these values, the pitch can be maintained efficiently and purposively what will result in remarkably extended pitch lifetime. By securing the pitch quality with the right maintenance, playing fun and injury prevention will increase dramatically and automatically. Another huge advantage, all readings can be compared directly with the FIFA requirements which apply in several countries around the globe.

Strong demand
Deltec recently launched the Club Set at a Fieldmanager demonstration day for synthetic turf maintenance in the Netherlands. Mr. Auke Markerink, Commercial Manager at Deltec explains: “We got many requests from people who are close to the end user. The quality awareness of installers, maintenance companies, municipalities and clubs has increased enormously. The importance of an easy, budget friendly monitoring method for synthetic turf quality is huge. A synthetic turf pitch requires a large investment which has to last long from a financial perspective as well as seen through the glasses of a player.”

Club Set for own use
The Club Set consists of an Infill Measuring Device which tests the infill level, a Club Ramp with Ball Rebound which monitors the ball roll and ball rebound characteristics and the Club Tester for measuring the important shock absorption, vertical deformation and energy restitution values. To measure the ‘speed’ of a pitch, the Club Ramp with Ball Rebound is used. A football is released from the ramp and will roll a certain distance. This rolling distance has to comply with the requirements. The same applies to the ball rebound which can be read from the vertical measuring bar mounted to the ramp. The Club Tester simulates the landing of a foot on the pitch by means of a weight which touches the artificial turf surface in a predetermined way. A special sensor registers the values which are simply shown on the display. By the compact design, the Club Set is not only user friendly but also a budget friendly solution. By combining the Club Set with the right maintenance your synthetic turf pitch will last longer, guaranteed!
